Bruce E. Fritz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 12, 2023.

Bruce E. Fritz; of Clarkston; formerly of Lake Orion; age 76; passed away suddenly on January 5, 2023.  Bruce is the beloved husband of Pamela for 15 years; loving father of Kyle (Hiede) Fritz, Katherine (Clyde) Grassley, Katherine (Mike) Spina, Melissa Delmotte and Meghan (Barry) Puzio; and cherished Opa of Noah, Tristan, Alex, Ashley, Kaden, Darwin, Madison, Oliver and Kylie.  He is also the brother of Claire (the late Bill) Fritz, Lena (the late Richard) Fritz and Beverly (the late Mike) Fritz; the son of the late Lyle and Dorothy Fritz; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.  Bruce was born and raised Lake Orion before heading out to California to join the Marines where he served in the 1st Recon Division.  Once back in Lake Orion Bruce would become a staple of the community that he loved.  He was a former President of the “world famous” Men’s Softball League and he served two consecutive terms as the Commodore of the Lake Orion Boat Club.  When his kids were younger he coached multiple teams and would later help his son Kyle coach his grandkids’ teams.  Bruce also drove a school bus for Lake Orion Schools after he retired, and was a member of the Clarkston Community Church for many years.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Clarkston Community Church, 6300 Clarkston Road.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm and on Friday from 4 to 7 pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion.  Burial with military honors will take place after the service on Saturday at Eastlawn Cemetery in Lake Orion.  Memorial contributions may be made to The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund – www.fwsf.org.  Reflections may be made to www.sparksgriffin.com

Bruce sat beside me at my retirement party in Nov `21. We celebrated my next chapter... Pam I am so sorry for your loss. We all loved Bruce. We are celebrating with all who greeted him into the Kingdom of God as He stood before the Lord. I can hear Go

Thankful I knew Bruce and Pam for nearly 20 years through fellowship with them at Clarkston Community Church. Bruce loved God, Pam, his family and many friends. We have made so many memories over the years. I will never forget his kind encouraging words, his humor, and his love for others. So sorry he has passed but so happy for his eternal life in heaven! We have to celebrate!

Bruce has been known as Uncle Bruce to all of our family since I was a youngster. He took the time to teach me geometry and math skills when I was in Jr high. I was never so good at math...Bruce tought me it was possible to get A's in the subject matter! Uncle Bruce was always kind, there to help anytime needed. He was a good man and always good to my family. He will be missed by ALL who knew him and Loved forever! Love Rita! That's the name he always called me since childhood!
