Mr. Meriwether was my choral director for four years in the Jolly Rogers group in high school. He was a lovely man and taught us beautiful music. He taught us to strive for excellence in every performance and under his guidance we learned to sing with gladness and joy. Thank you for such wonderful teaching.

Mr. Meriwether created and led the girls´ glee club, The Jolly Rogers, at Two Rivers High School.
It was the highlight of my four high school years!
We prepared and sang by memory incredibly beautiful and difficult arrangements and performed all over Nashville. We sang in the chapel service at Belmont College, at local churches, and civic clubs. Christmas time was the highlight of the year! We even cut a record. We always won top awards in chorus competitions.
We had so much fun and worked so hard.
So thankful for Mr. Meriwether and my Jolly Rogers´ family!

I will remember Bruce mainly for the many times that I saw him jogging or walking near my house on McGavock Pike, and in all kinds of weather, and thinking with him so healthy looking that he needed to be doing other things, not needing that exercise. Always noticed him in the church choir and especially when he was the president. His singing at a friend's funeral impressed me with his beautiful voice and I know many at McGavock High School will remember his time there.

A wonderful teacher and a good man. I had him for music at Two Rivers HS for 5 consecutive years in the `60´s and early 70´s (male chorus and choir).
I do have a funny story that I will relate at another time.
