Burt Manning Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 8 to Aug. 10, 2009.
Burt Wildon Manning III, beloved son and brother, passed away suddenly, August 2, 2009. He resided in Niagara Falls, NY. Burt is a 1977 graduate of Lockport Senior High School. He also was a graduate of Niagara Community College with a degree of General Studies and was currently furthering his studies in Radiologic Technology which he was very passionate about. Besides being a full time student he was also employed by the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center (NACC) as a maintenance man and worked as a jack of all trades for them and will be greatly missed there. Burt was also an accomplished musician for most of his life and inspired many with the love of his guitar. Burt is beloved son of Burt W., Jr (Jeannette) Manning of Taveres, FL and Kenneth Singleton of Sanborn, NY, but goes on to join his dearly beloved mother, Marcia Singleton. He is also survived by his four siblings, Douglas (Patricia) Manning of North Tonawanda, NY, Cynthia (and the late Steven) Forsyth of Lockport, NY, Denise (John) Miller of Sarasota, FL and Jeanette (Paul) Majewski of Pendleton, NY. He was also an amusingly funny uncle to several nieces, nephews and great nieces who will miss him greatly. The family invites all of his friends to come to a Memorial Service to celebrate Burt's life on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the NACC, 1201 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls, NY 14301. Also the family encourages any donations to be given in Burt's memory to the NACC to the above address or to the Fellowship House, Inc., P.O. Box 606, Niagara Falls, NY 14302. Burt spread his creativity and love in such a very unique way with his sweet, comedic and generous spirit that will never be forgotten and he will be forever in our hearts. We'll love you forever Burt. Please visit www.pruddenandkandt.com to leave an on-line condolence.

Burt~

You would have loved your Memorial Service. So many people were there- from Miss Clara to the Mayor, the turn out proved how invaluable you are to us all.

Some one mentioned that you would have said- All of this for me? Get out!

Yes, all of that for you. The testimonials made it hard to believe that you were really gone.

I like to think you've gone on a trip to California to have yet one more bonfire. I can almost see you standing there as the fire catches wood and the sea lions play, staring out to the horizon and the setting sun....

Yes, all of that for you. There were so many good testimonials that it's still hard to think of you as gone.

I like to think that you're just on a trip to California, gone back to the beach for yet one more bonfire as the sea lions play and the surf rolls in. I can almost see you standing there looking out to the horizon and the setting sun....

This is a picture of Burt’s $10,000 guitar collection in the early 80’s when he lived in Pacific Beach in San Diego & worked as the top salesman at the largest major appliance center there. As many know, He was one of the best musicians anyone ever met because of his passion and the love for it that he always said his mother had taught him. He inspired many people into becoming musicians because everybody loved him and wanted to be like him. Incredibly lucky, he would consistently catch the 1st fish, the biggest fish, win all the card games, dog races, and somehow even pick the winning lottery tickets. It is hard to imagine never being able to play music with him again all night long the way that he loved to and did so often…

Since you can tell a tree by it's fruit, Burt was a peach. He was a giving, loving man. He loved people, and I am grieved in my heart of hearts that he is gone from us. He blessed me continually. He was a friend, and he meant alot to me. Mitzi Bushong
