C. Hart Obituary
He was raised in Norton, Va., son of the late C.D. and Cleo V. Hart. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in forestry at Virginia Tech and his Ph.D. in wood technology at North Carolina State University. Professor Hart spent his career at the North Carolina State School of Forestry teaching wood science. His research on moisture relations in wood contributed significantly to methods of drying hardwood lumber.
He also was preceded in death by his brother, Glen Dale Hart, and his aunt, Sally Grace Burton.
Dr. Hart is survived by his sister, Hazel Hart Hilmon, Abingdon, Va., and several nieces and nephews.
As directed he will be cremated and become part of a white pine forest in Washington County, Va., where he lived in retirement.

Arthur was a great friend in high school. We marked mine props one summer. With David Ball built boats and paddled down the Clinch river to avoid graduation exercises.
Lost contact when we went into the Army and our paths never crossed.I made some effort to contact Arthur but failed, always intended to try harder and now regret that I failed. My sympathy to the family, I grieve with you.
