Caleb Mark Scofield

BOW – Caleb Mark Scofield, of Bow, N.H., passed away March 28, 2018.
Born in Concord, N.H., October 6, 1978, Caleb is survived by his wife Jennifer Scofield and children Sydney, 7, and Desmond, 10; his mother Faith Scofield of Lanesborough, Mass.; brother Kyle Scofield of Portland, Maine; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and close friends. He is predeceased by his father, Vernon Mark Scofield.
Caleb grew up in Pembroke, N.H., and graduated from Pembroke Academy in 1997. He and Jen met in high school and lived in Boston for several years before moving to Los Angeles where they were married in 2004. Their first child, Desmond, was born in LA in 2007 and daughter, Sydney, born in 2010, after they relocated back to Boston. The family has lived in Bow since 2014 and is active in their wonderful and supportive elementary school, neighborhood and CrossFit communities.
Caleb was a self-taught and naturally-gifted musician. Despite not being able to conventionally read music, he composed, produced and performed in his own unique style and influence. Early in his career he was the vocalist in New Hampshire hardcore legends Strike 3. He went on to play bass and perform worldwide with the bands Cave In, Old Man Gloom and Zozobra. His musical legacy spans 20 years of recordings and tours.
Caleb was a loving father and partner, in addition to his career in music he worked as a carpenter and spent summers camping with his family and friends in Jamaica, Vt., and Hermit Island, Maine. His loss will be felt far and wide, most deeply by his wife and children.
The family is grateful of the love and support from Caleb's extensive network of friends and community.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 4, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main St., Concord.
A memorial service will follow in the Chapel of the Waters Funeral Home at 12 noon.
