Caleb James Terpstra

TERPSTRA - Caleb James Terpstra, age 14, of Rockford, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, April 20, 2015. He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Arthur James Terpstra. Caleb is survived by his parents James and Brenda; his brothers Braden and Noah; grandparents Elsie Terpstra, and Don and Carol Moyer; great-grandmothers Beverly Terpstra and Elizabeth Moyer; aunts and uncles Paula and Marc Start, Alan and Bonnie Moyer, Jason and Mindy Moyer, cousins Kara, Alisha, Julia, Jenna and Lindsey, as well as many extended family and friends. Caleb loved life and he pursued his passions with great intensity. He enjoyed reading, playing video games, music (playing the guitar and singing), movies (Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit), and the Green Bay Packers (much to his father's chagrin – Go Lions!). He also excelled at Bible memorization and competed in many competitions. He was a creative kid who wrote stories and created his own games with unique rules. He recently started playing basketball and enjoyed playing with kids in the neighborhood. He was a gentle spirit who never had ill thoughts of others and accepted every one as a friend. One of his teachers at church recalled him as the "sweetest boy he knew." A celebration of life service for Caleb will be held at 1 P.M. Monday at Blythefield Hills Baptist Church, 6727 Kuttshill Dr., NE, Rockford, with Pastor Justin Rowland officiating. A time for relatives and friends to visit with Caleb's family will be held Sunday from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M at the Rockford Baptist Church, 221 Courtland St., Rockford.
