Calvin Ward Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 11, 2021.
Mr. Calvin Earl Ward, Jr., 42, of Grand Street, Danbury, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, March 11, 2021 at his home. He was the fiancée of Yiesha Clemons for 18 years. Mr. Ward, Jr. was born October 8, 1978 in Danbury, CT, son to Maria (Altieri) Ward and the late Calvin E. Ward, Sr. "Cazz" or "Cazzito", as he was also known, was educated in the Danbury Public School System where he played football and basketball until his sophomore year. Later on, he also played football for the Danbury Vikings. Calvin had a passion for football and basketball and also loved ESPN. He loved football so much, he volunteered as a coach for the youth football team "The Danbury Hatters" where he coached his son from the age of 4 ½, to the age of 14 and loved every minute of it. He was a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan and was also a huge fan of Lebron James. When it came to Lebron, you couldn't tell him anything about Lebron. Calvin had been employed for various companies including Stew Leonards, Plastic Company in Waterbury, KFC in Waterbury, Harambee Youth Center and Winter Garbage company in Danbury. He attended New Hope Baptist Church in Danbury, CT. Cazz had a passion for cooking on the grill as well as cooking in the kitchen. He had a "special sauce" that he named "Zito's Sauce" that everyone loved. The love he had for his family and friends was immeasurable. Calvin would give anyone the shirt off of his back. He was a caring, giving man with a huge, good heart of gold. He loved money, music, swimming, fishing, taking vacations, and dancing. He was always the life of the party. Calvin was definitely one of a kind who will truly be missed by his family, friends, fiancé, son and all who knew and loved him. Besides his fiancé and mother, he leaves to cherish his memories, one son; Jalen A. Ward, three sisters; Jacqueline Ward, Alexis (Nevin) Thomas both of Waterbury and Passion Ward of Florida, a special grandmother; Mable Clemons, one adopted brother; Avery Johnson, two nieces; Milani and Island Thomas, two nephews; Yhameek Johnson and Christopher Walker Jr., three god-children; Milani, Dalan and Aniyah, three longtime friends/brothers; Shaquan Moore, Marlek Moore and Joseph Cardwell, one uncle; Merlin (Dawn) Ward of Danbury a host of extended family and friends.
