Carl Ramone Dudczak, 69, of Hines, formerly of Mt. Prospect, son of Chester and Cecilia Dudczak, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019 surrounded by friends and loved ones. Carl was the beloved husband of the late Greta (nee Agness) Dudczak, devoted father of Sean Dudczak and step-father of Steven (Jennifer) LaVergne and Sharen State, loving grandfather of Amber and Tyler LaVergne, cherished brother of Craig, Cary, Chester, Cheryl, Cathy, and Christy, and adored nephew and godson of Alice Krzyminski.
As a young man, Carl bravely served our country in the United States Army, and in the last several years, he volunteered for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He enjoyed running and wrestling in high school and developed a successful career in restaurant management, which allowed him to exercise his amazing people skills. A huge U.S. history buff, Carl enjoyed reenactments and board games depicting U.S. wars, and building elaborate model ships.
He was smart, gentle, kind, and charismatic, with a great sense of humor, and had a way of making everyone around him feel comfortable and loved. His passion for, and devotion to, his family and friends was second to none. Carl will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A committal service with military honor guard will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at 20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL 60421 on Tuesday at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society in Carl’s memory would be appreciated.

Carl was a man who passionately dedicated himself to the things important to him. He loved his wife and family, he supported his country, he devoted himself to history and to his gameplay. He always had a funny or interesting story to tell about his life, history, or his work. I was always in awe of his knowledge and his ability to recall so many different facts for different battles and events. He will be terribly missed by those he left behind, but those who love us will be with us always in our hearts. May he rest in peace.

There are few words to add to those which have already been said. May Sean, family, and friends find comfort in their memories of Carl and with the love and support of those who knew him. Rest in peace.
