Linda, my longtime dear friend....how could we have known so long ago when our friendship started out that our beloved husbands would depart our lives too soon. You and Carl were such a perfectly matched couple and had so much in common. Carl was a wonderful, kind, hard working, compassionate, humorous man. I will always remember your visit to Virginia when we were talking about Upstate NY....and somehow the conversation got a bit twisted up and "lampreys in trees" somehow got into the conversation...it was just one of the funny, silly times we had enjoying each others company. I will miss that, but I hope YOU will come and visit me in Virginia this summer and we can continue the tradition! Love to your family and you, Carol

Dear Linda,
I just heard about Carl's death as I had been in England for the summer. Please know you are in my thoughts and in my prayers.
Don't think of him as gone away - his journeys just begun, life holds so many facets - this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadnesss can really pass away.
And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched....for nothing loved is ever lost - and he was loved so much.

Dad, You treated people the way you wanted to be treated. Kind, Honorable, straight forward and with a heaping amount of humor. You showed us all what it means to live a life your loved ones can be proud of and we pray that we can live up to your example. You were a family man who loved a hard day's work and the occasional sweet treat. Warm soda, warm soup, warm water and any day that ended with a job well done. We will miss you and never forget the man you were. Love always and forever, Keith, Heather, Breana and Rachael

Linda and Family, My heart breaks for you all, but am so very confident that Carl is in a fabulous place. If God judges us on the kindness and love we generate, then Carl surely has a place with Him. God blesses us every day and has certainly touched us all by giving us Carl, even if for a short while. My prayers are with you all.

I'll sure miss my "favorite little uncle." His humor and his Irish spirit will always be a part of me. I think of the long conversations he'll have with my father once again and take comfort in that. He's with his son, Dave, so know that he's a happy man. Always smile when you remember Uncle Carl...because he would want that.
