Brownsville - Carmela Vega 75, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville.

Carmela Vega was born in Brownsville, TX, to Beatrice Camero and Eladio C. Cavazos on March 22, 1947.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Eladio and Beatrice Cavazos; dear cousin, Bertha Garcia.

Carmela is survived by her husband, Raul Vega, Jr.; children, Gracie (Michael) Little, Daniel, and David Vega; sister, Rosario Gonzalez; 1 grandchild, Samantha Vega.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 23rd, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 24th, 2023, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Pallbearers will be: Daniel and David Vega, Michael Little, Ray Bowman, Ruben Cano, and Hugo Ramos.
