Carol Ann (Eccleston) Taber, 76, of Sarasota, FL, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 17, 2023. She was born on August 9, 1947 to the late George William Jr. and Helen Eva (Souza) Eccleston of New Bedford, MA.

Carol graduated from NBHS class of 1965, completing her education at Kinyon-Campbell Business School. She had a successful career, retiring from LaBaron's Hairdressing Academy as Office Manager. Prior to that, she worked at X&K Insurance. She was highly respected by those she worked with. Formerly a resident of Fairhaven, Carol embarked on a full-time RV journey before settling in Florida following her retirement.

Carol was known for her love of dogs. She had many that she loved and lost over the years. Her devotion to her furry companions was something that those who knew her would attest to.

Carol was dedicated to her stepchildren, Amy Taber-Silva and her husband Raymond Silva Jr. of Acushnet, Kimberly Taber of Westport, Brian Taber of Westport and Christine Paiva Giguere of N. Anson, ME. She also leaves behind a sister, Joyce E. Lopes of Fairhaven, a brother, David Eccleston and his wife Linda of Plymouth; five grandchildren, Jack, Abigail and Bryce Silva, twins Makayla and Samantha Paiva, a godchild, Jenna Lopes; loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, long-time friends, in addition to her fur baby, Sassy.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry M. Taber, her beloved son Stephen Douglas Paiva and older brother George William Eccleston III.

Carol will be remembered for her kind and loving nature. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Century House in Acushnet, MA, on October 12, 2023, at 9:00am. Family and friends are invited to join and share their fondest memories of Carol. Please RSVP by Sunday, October 8, 2023, via email at [email protected].
Interment of remains will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery, 1100 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford at 1:00pm.
