Carol passed away peacefully on August 3, 2013 surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer. Loving wife of John Jr. for 58 years. Beloved mother of Gary (Ronna), John (Kim), and Michael (Sharon). Dear grandmother of Jeffrey (Megan), John IV, Chad, Kirsten, Taylor, Calli, Katrina, Matthew, Kayla, and Andrew. Sister of Ron Pries (the late Sandra). Carol was born in Peck, Michigan and was a graduate of Sandusky High School. She also graduated with Bachelors from University of Detroit, a Masters from University of Michigan, MBA and PHD from Michigan State University. She was a longtime Professor, Administrator and Dean at Oakland Community College. Carol was President of the Michigan Business Education Association. She was a North Central Association of High Education Consultant Evaluator. Serving on the Bloomfield Hills Board of Education for four years, she was a teacher at heart and never stopped helping the community and educating others. She used her great mind to assist seniors with their taxes. Carol was a member of St. Hugo of the Hills Church for over 50 years. Carol had great passion for life that was contagious. She loved traveling the world and playing cards with her family, sorority sisters and friends. Most importantly she loved the Lord and is now rejoicing with him in Heaven. Family will receive friends Tuesday 2:00-8:00pm with a scripture service at 7:00pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward (btwn 13-14 Mile). Funeral Mass Wednesday 11:00am at St. Hugo of the Hills Stone Chapel, 2215 Opdyke Rd., Bloomfield Hills. Visitation at church begins at 10:30am. Memorials to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Michigan Chapter, 1421 E. 12 Mile Rd., Madison Heights, MI 48071.
