Carolyn Sue (Harral) McMeans

Carolyn Sue McMeans, born October 5, 1950, left her home in Leander, Texas to be with Jesus on Saturday morning, June 7, 2025. Coincidentally, a childhood friend met Jesus on the same day.

Sue is survived by her best friend and husband of 54 years, Robert "Bob" McMeans, and her 4 children, Beverly Cook of Waco, Michael McMeans of Lufkin, Johnny McMeans of Lufkin, and Melanie Tanksley of Austin, 18 grandchildren, and 9 great-children.

Sue graduated from Pine Tree High School with the Class of 1969. She then attended Stephen F. Austin State University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Education. Then she completed her Masters in Education at Stephen F. Austin State University. Sue would return to school later in her career to earn her second Masters in Education Administration.

Sue McMeans was born to teach and lead. After completing her education, she got her first teaching job, and her first job ever, at Corrigan-Camden Elementary. The next 38 years, Sue dedicated her life to the children of Corrigan, Texas. Sue taught both first and third grade and then became the Principal of the Primary school. She led the teachers and staff with both grace and love.

Sue was beloved by all of her family, friends, and both the Corrigan and Lufkin community. Sue lived her life serving others as a devoted wife, mother, and friend.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Corrigan - Family Life Center.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Jews for Jesus would be appreciated.
