Carroll Cowgill Obituary
Mr. Cowgill was born in 1934, in Spring Gap, Hampshire County, West Virginia, the son of the late Austin Derwood Cowgill and Mabel Vertie Kerns.
He was a retired Warehouse Traffic Clerk with Rubbermaid and a member of Blue Ridge Grace Brethren Church. Mr. Cowgill was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1952.
His wife, Frances Elizabeth Cooley Cowgill, whom he married in 1958, in Hagerstown, Maryland, preceded him in death in June of 1987.
Surviving are his sons, John Cowgill and his wife Marilyn of Berryville, Virginia, Stephen Cowgill of Winchester, Virginia; five grandchildren, Jeremy Cowgill, Megan Campbell, Brigham Cowgill, Alex Cowgill, Jordan Searcey; four great grandchildren; his sisters, Helen Whitacre of Bloomery, West Virginia and Linda Whitacre of Winchester, Virginia.
One brother, Jerry Cowgill, preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Reverend Larry Gegner officiating. Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Stephens City, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Steve Sale, Jimmy Heatwole, Leonard Slonaker, Dale Stickley, Raymond Dunlap and Donny Gregory.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

Sorry to learn of Carroll's passing...I went to school with Carroll at Bethel Grade or Paw Paw High.. He came to the Bethel 4TH picnic couple years ago.. Our sympathy with the family..
