CASEY KING Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 19, 2012.
Casey Lane King Casey Lane King was born on Aug. 31, 1987, and taken from us all too soon on the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012. Casey grew up in Warrenville, IL. He loved music, art, especially drawing. He loved to sing. He enjoyed the great outdoors, living in the city, working with horses, getting together with his family and friends. He loved life in general. Casey had a passion for acting and enjoyed working at the haunted houses during Halloween time. He also loved adventure. Casey was proud of his new job as waiter and the fact that he had just gotten his first apartment. He had a generous and kind heart especially for people less fortunate than himself. He made friends easily and touched the hearts of all who knew him. Casey is survived by his mother, Leslie (Suzi) Schatz; his brother, Cary King; his maternal grandparents, Paul and Helen Schatz; his maternal aunt, Sherri (Mike) Bollweg; and cousins, Colton Bollweg, Haylie Bollweg and Jessica (Cleveland) and her husband, Andrew Jackson. Casey is also survived by his father, Jim (Sue) King; his paternal grandmother, Betty King; his paternal uncle, John (Roxanne) King; his aunt, Lana (Glenn) Fiala; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Robert King; and uncle, Bobby King. "Besides Casey's many friends, too many to name, Casey was also survived by some very dear and special family friends, Doug Newlin, Lou Ann Urquhart, Cassie and Ken Major and Judy Brannen, who stood by our family realizing our pain during some very difficult times in recent years. We are all comforted in knowing that he is now free and safe in the loving arms of our Lord." A celebration of Casey's life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in Casey's name to the Saint Anthony Hospital Foundation, and mail to 2875 W. 19th St., Chicago, IL 60623. For more information, please contact the foundation office at 773-484-4836. "The loving care, faith and compassion of the staff at this hospital helped provide strength and courage to our family during this extremely difficult time." Arrangements were made by DuPage Cremations, Ltd. and Memorial Chapel, West Chicago, 800-588-1132.

I am so sorry for your loss. I first met Casey when he was in my eighth grade classroom and he would usually stop by my house yearly to let me know how he was doing. He is one of those students that stays in your heart and mind and I enjoyed his visits, listening him talk about his music and jobs. I will miss him.

Dear Suzi and Cary,

Words cannot express how sad and shocked I am to learn about Casey's passing. I logged on to facebook the other night and the first thing I read was that Casey had earned his wings on August 14. My heart just completely broke. My memory was flooded with the thoughts of Casey and Cary visiting at APS. Casey was such a happy kid. He would visit me at my cubicle and it just brightened my day. I will never forget those days. I still think of him as that young kid, just full of life, outgoing, always having fun, always smiling and always laughing. He had a knack for making other people smile and laugh. I can't imagine what you all are going through, but just know that he is in good hands now. His life is whole, he is free and has no more suffering to endure. May your wonderful memories comfort you both during this difficult time. I know your universe has been flipped upside down but may the hole in your heart be mended little by little as time passes. Please call me if you need to talk or vent or anything at all. 630.291.0254.

It breaks my heart that Casey is gone. I've literally known him since I was born. I will cherish the memories we had growing up together and always remember him as a member of my Yellow Jacket Street Gang (from a play when we acted together in middle school). RIP Casey <3
