Cassandra "Sandy" Winay, 78, passed away on March 14, 2024, in Eastpointe, MI. She was born on October 7, 1945, in Detroit, MI.

Sandy was known for her willingness to help anyone and her love for animals. She cherished her family and lived life on her own terms. Her hobbies included reading, story writing, enjoying country music, and indulging in good food and beer.

She is survived by her sons, Scott Winay and Greg Winay, daughter-in-law Cheryl (married to Greg), grandsons Michael Winay, Matthew Winay, granddaughter Melissa Berenstein, and Melissa's husband Jason Berenstein. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Clara Piecuch, and her brother Leon Piecuch.

Sandy attended Regina High School in Harper Woods and later furthered her education at Dorsey School of Business.

A visitation and service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 2-4 pm at Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church in St. Clair Shores, MI, with a meal to follow. Contributions in Sandy's memory can be made to the Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church new sign fund.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by the Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church.

Sandy Winay will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
