THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS, SUPPORT AND LOVE AT THIS DIFFICULT TIME. MY MOM'S PASSING IS BITTERSWEET. I KNOW SHE'S IN A WAY BETTER PLACE AND FEELING NO PAIN. I KNOW HER ABSENCE WILL BE FELT AT RANDOM TIMES--CERTAIN SONGS, SMELLS AND EVERY DAY "STUFF" BUT IT'S ALSO A WAY OF KEEPING HER ALIVE IN MY HEART AND A REMINDER OF WHAT A GREAT WOMAN SHE WAS.
RIP "KITTY"

Grandma was such a wonderful woman. I remember countless days of our vacation's in Florida, running around Clover Leaf, sleeping on the porch and watching Grandma and Grandpa play tennis. Grapefruit cut up every morning! Later when I returned to visit with my children, we'd visit with them at the pool, walk the park and go for rides in the golf cart. She was always patient and thoughtful- cards for every birthday and Christmas. Gracious when we'd visit and always happy to simply hang with us on the shuffle board court. We love her and miss her deeply .

Hello to all family and friends of Kitty Henn, our deepest condolences of her passing - from the Whelan and Mann family. Such a sweet and giving woman is how we knew Kitty best. Always with such a warm smile and always trying to feed us whenever we visited her and the family when down in Florida with Carol, and at the time, baby Kate (25 years ago). We've seen her a few times over the years whenever our worlds lined up with Kate's, and she was there. We respect your time with the family right now but please let us know if there is anything we can do for you - Especially down here in Florida. Love you all.

Dear Kitty, I feel so fortunate to have been able to meet you and spend time with you when we were both at Atria. During t1he months we had our meals together I heard so many wonderful stories about your life and family. I was amazed and envious to learn about your physical accomplishments at an age when mostof us stop learning new things. Really! Golf AND Tennis! Your wonderful sense of humor and your famous one_liners were enjoyed by everyone. Kitty, I treasure the friendship we shared and I will continue to miss you as I have ever since we both moved from Atria. With love, Peggy

Dear Grandma,
I've loved going through and reading others posts about you - you are truly a beautiful, loving woman that made everyone around you feel loved! I'm so happy to have had you as a grandma. You and grandpa are an inspiration to me, your energetic love of life and love for each other has been inspiring. You and grandpa always told me that life keeps getting better if you let it - thank you for living that example out!
Love and prayers,

Dear Catherine, I am so happy I had a chance to meet you last summer. You were making jokes and telling us stories about your kids! :) I was so happy to get to know you. And even though we met once, I feel like I know you well through your wonderful family - the heritage that only a loving and caring person like you could leave behind. I thank you for them and I pray for you every day. Memory eternal!

I had the great pleasure of not only metting the Henn Family. Ms. Catherine or as I knew her as Ms. Kitty was one of my residents at Atria Evergreen Woods- Cedar Wood. She left me with alot of great memories, that I will always remember and keep very close to my heart. From the first day I meet Ms. Kitty she always called me her buddy and it's really nice to know that my buddy will be watching over me. My hearts and prayers go out to her family.

My sweet sweet GramCrackers... Has there ever been a sweeter lady? It's impossible to put into words the effect you had (still have!) on my life. Living with you and Grumps in Brooksville was such a blessing... Without you, how would I know where to hide nummies in the house to keep grandpa from eating them all?? I aspire to be even half as compassionate and selfless as you, you're a beautiful role model :)

Love you Checkers, always!

My beautiful wife Kitty, I never got to know you at Saint Mary's of Redford during high school. I met you after the war at our class reunion, class of 44. For me it was love at first sight. Thanks to Bob Miller for daring me to call you, I asked you out for a date. Two years later we got married.

Sixty seven years together and no complaints from you as you always supported me and my ideas and the direction our lives took. What a life, what a wife. My buddies all told me how lucky I was to have you for a wife. You filled my life with happiness. Right now I have a broken heart. I pray that some day I will join you in heaven and you will help me fix that. I love you very much and I always will. Love, John

Where do I start. Mom was a beautiful, caring unassuming lady with a beautiful soul. She was a good listener and would only offer her opinion when asked.
I remember as a child if one of us stepped out of line and we pushed her to her limit she would the get the "dreaded red paddle" off the refrigerator and apply her affirming love. It seemed to pain her more than the one that was on the receiving end.
Even though we lived miles apart, when speaking to her on the phone it was as if she was right by my side. Thank you Lord for providing me with such a wonderful mom; our loss is heaven's gain.
I love you dearly,
Your son Tim

All right, I'll admit it, I've always been a mama's boy. Who wouldn't be with a mom like mine. For 67 years she put my dad and us kids first. She showed me how to be a team player. She was strong, loving, caring, and deeply devoted to God. By her example she taught me what it means to persevere and not be a quitter.

Thanks for everything Mom.I love you and I miss you already. I know that you will enjoy paradise and that paradise will definitely enjoy you.

Carol, I heard of your mom's passing yesterday at the Hartland pickleball tournament. Your tribute to her was so touching she sounds like a wonderful woman, indeed. I can see where your athletic ability originated from. Dave and I frequent the Milford Cinema often, we didn't know it was owned by your family. It's our favorite theater, they treat you like family there. Moms are special people and I know you will miss her, I hope you find comfort in the happy memories you have of her. i wrote the mom's obit for this website but it's "just the facts" so i thought i'd right down some thoughts from my heart about my sweet mom.

first of all, my mom's a saint. that's all you really need to know about her. she was the living example of "preach the gospel at all times, if necessary use words." she never lectured or argued with me i didn't fear getting a spanking growing up. i feared disappointing her. good old catholic guilt right there. she didn't even ground me when i was suspended for smoking in the girl's room in high school. she was a prime example of patience and love and putting other's needs before hers. her needs and wants were simple and she was so easy to love. i'm the youngest of 7 so maybe by the time i rolled around, she was just too tired to get mad or raise a hand but i really don't think so.
my dad and her built, owned and operated the Milford Cinema since 1971 and my nephew owns it so it's still in the family. kind of a nice legacy. they retired and bought a place in brooksville florida right after i graduated in 1981.(my high school graduation present was a set of luggage-subtle hint to move on). she and my dad were avid euchre and pinochle players, tennis players, and golfers. she got a hole in one BEFORE my dad and i always like when girls beat boys. she played tennis up until she was 85 when she broke her hip playing. the last couple of years she suffered with dementia but even then she was cheerful and grateful to everyone who she dealt with--even up to her dying days in hospice last week.
AMAZING is not a strong enough word but it's all i can come up with right now.
love and miss you already mom

The wheels of life keep turning. We have our time here on earth. Your mom had as great of a trip as anyone could ask for. The great times going to the movies at your place. "Ground Star Conspiracy" was the first movie and I was about 13 yrs old. Carol, her mom and dad and I played lots of tennis together. Catherine took my highly competitive nature in stride and would play her game while I wacked that ball with everything I had. Somehow she'd find a way to steal the point from me. It's funny, I haven't seen her in years yet now I'm gonna miss her. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family. Love you guys.
