Mitchell Tipton Hoback Jones Cousins
Cheryl Ann Whittle
April 29, 2013
Yesterday morning I was informed by Teresa Wheeler, Caregiver, of Wytheville, VA that my first cousin, once removed, had passed away peacefully in the early hours Wednesday. I send him my love and wish him Godspeed on this portion of his journey! Cecil was a wonderful person, gentle, kind and simple. He attended his church regularly when he was well. He loved the simpler things in life. And he loved his family and his ancestors, especially "Gandma","Gandpa", his mom and Dad, and Aunt Mary Tipton. Cecil has been my tour guide on my many trips to Wytheville. He and his sister, Helen, would join me as soon as I would get to Wytheville, and we would quickly make our way to the area Hardee's for breakfast or lunch, and then we would be off on many adventures. He would take me to the cemetery to visit the graves of those Mitchells who had gone before, and to the different areas that were important in the Mitchell families lives through the years. We would visit his brothers and their families. But mostly we enjoyed just sitting together and listening to his stories and looking over pictures. I would take my family photos and memorabilia to show him and Helen; and he and Helen would have there photos and memorabilia that they would share with me. And I would bring my copy machine and computer so that everything I copied or scanned for me, we would copy for him and for other family members. It was a wonderful cooperative between us and we have shared lots of information, but I dare say, we still had more to share... Cecil, I love you! I am so sorry you are gone, but I know you needed to be released from your ailing body. So today you are with your Lord and Savior, Jesus; and safe in the Arms of Our Heavenly Father...Godspeed my precious cousin, Cecil Glenn Mitchell!
NOTE: I am Cheryl Ann Whittle and the daughter of Vivian Tipton Thompson Wilmoth; I am searching for my biological father who is unknown to me at this time. If you knew my mother, or are a relative of ours, I would love to hear from you.
