Cecil passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Cecil was a resident of Athens, Georgia at the time of his passing. Mr. Smith received his Bachelors and Masters degree from the University of Georgia. He was married to Nancy Reed Smith. Entombment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Prince Avenue Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince Avenue Baptist Church Building or Mission Fund. www.lordandstephens.com.
