Champlain Marcil

MARCIL, Champlain professional photographer from Ottawa Passed away on April 2, 2010 at the age of 89 years and 10 months. He was the son of the late Rose Alba Carle and the late Romeo R. Marcil. He was the beloved husband of the late Pauline Vachon. He leaves to mourn his loss five children: Denis, Charles (Suzanne St Martin), Jean (Lynn McNabb), Lise (Yvon Guindon), and Gynette (Eduardo Ibarra). Cherished grandfather of Richard and Catherine Guindon. He also leaves his sister, Cecile (Conrad Meunier). He was predeceased by three sisters, Jeannette, Berthe, and Annette (late Maurice Dorion) and four brothers, Edgar (late Gabrielle Bernier), Eugene (late Yvette Miron), Fernand (late Lorrell Walter), Lucien (late Fernande Brind'amour). He also leaves behind many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive family and friends at Racine, Robert and Gauthier Funeral Home (180 Montreal Rd., Ottawa) on Thursday April 8th from 6 to 9 p.m. There will also be visitation on Friday April 9th 2010 from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Church (405 Montreal Rd.,) at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Notre-Dame cemetery. Champlain was a lifetime member of the University of Ottawa, lifetime member of the Minor Seminary of Ottawa, and a lifetime member of the Centre Pauline-Charron. He was also an affiliated member of the Christian Brothers. Special thanks to Dr. Andre Gauthier for the care and support he provided to Pauline and Champlain.
