Charles “Charlie” Robert Simpson, 84, was born on October 4, 1938 in Dallas, TX. He was raised in Kleberg, TX, where he graduated high school. After graduation, he moved to Mesquite, TX, became a cement mason, and worked 40 years in that profession. When he was not working, he enjoyed several hobbies, including playing golf, gardening, playing pool, reading comics, and watching Dallas Cowboys football. Upon retirement, he moved to DeRidder, LA, where he enjoyed the remainder of his life. He passed away peacefully on March 22, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his precious wife, Priscilla Simpson, son, Dennis Simpson, grandson, Zachary Tribble, brother, Billy Jackson, and parents, Robert and Callie Simpson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Debbie Allen and husband, Van, of DeRidder, LA, Brad Simpson of Ennis, TX, and Susan Tribble of Mesquite, TX, grandchildren: Melissa Jeane and husband, Jason, of Slagle, LA, Brad Simpson, Jr. and wife, Bethany, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ricky Simpson of Bonneville, MS, Hailey Guichet and husband, Bobby, of DeRidder, LA, Ryan Branch of Colorado Springs, CO, and Karissa Leger and husband, Luke, of DeRidder, LA, ten great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.
A private memorial service will be held in Ennis, TX on April, 8, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made payable to Rosepine Retirement and Rehabilitation Center in Rosepine, LA in memory of Charles Simpson for resident account. He greatly cared for the residents of this nursing home and often gave his own belongings to them in their time of need. He was a great friend to anyone who crossed his path, and he will be missed by many.

To the tuffest man I knew ,I worked one summer with him he gave me a sledgehammer told me to bust that curb down and have it done bye the time he got back from lunch ,I didn’t have it finished but he laughed and said I can’t believe you got that much done ,he scared the hell out of me ,But on the golf course it was a different story ,we told as many lies as we could .haha ,Rest in peace Charles I love you .
