COWPERTHWAITE, Charles David
1943 –2017
2RCR – Commissionaire
Passed peacefully at the Almonte Hospital on Thursday May 25, 2017, David is survived by his brother Bill, nieces Kate and Stephanie and nephew Robert. He is also fondly remembered by his extended family, Suzanne, Bernie and Michael, the dogs Shorty and Kable and the four cats, Nougat, Squish, Mina and Maya. He was a veteran having served in the RCN and 2nd Battalion RCR. He was also a Commissionaire in Ottawa. David graduated from the Ontario College of Art and liked to do black and white sketches of interesting buildings and animals; he was an avid reader of History and Military events as well as a sports fan, especially the Boston Bruins. Dave approached life with humour and kindness to all. He will be missed by his many friends at his favourite local, Grumpy's on Bridle Path Dr. in Ottawa. A celebration of his life will be held at Grumpy's date to be announced. Remembrance donations to Canadian Cancer Society http://www.cancer.ca.
