Uncle Chuck was a special man, and a true Canadian, who was also my Godfather. Fond memories of a man who was my father's best friend in the Force so many years ago. Until we meet again. My deepest sympathies.

Dear Dodie & Your Beautiful Children & Grandchildren,

My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Getting to know Charles while office temping for him over these past two years, has been an honour and a privilege. His determination in the face of any type of adversity – great or small - has been truly inspiring for me, especially when I have been faced with a challenge. He is a gentleman and a scholar, brilliant and insightful with a generous-hearted attitude to all those in need, and a tremendously gifted sense of humour. May you be blessed with comfort in memories of Chuck’s kindness, compassion, laughter, intellect and devotion.

My dear, I was so surprised to hear that Chuck Cripps has passing in suddenly time. I did usually went to antiques auction for several years. I still have some items here which he sold me. they were so valueable now. I remember his daughter did interpreter in sign language when auction. So I am glad I have met and know Chuck since. I last saw him on TV for Xmas choir while I was on my days off and also Antique Roadshow. I was surprised and proud of him. may he rest in peace and always be remembering for whole community. I meant that. Take Really Good Care with big hearts to hug. Thank you. [want to say big Hello to Marg. Pullishy ! who used to interpreter me. I am in Burnaby that sometime go to Victoria.]

The constants in Chuck's life -- love, courage, commitment and unfailing faith remained strong and evident during his last illness.
How wonderful that you, who were so dear to him in this life, were there at his transition to everlasting life.

Dear Dodie, Leslie, Sterling, Craig and Nigel;
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Chuck's passing; though it's been a number of years since he and I last chatted, I have many fond memories of the years we spent doing the Goodwill Auction...he was the only person that could make me laugh on air during a live program!
I will also remember the many conversations we had...some might call them arguments because we were usually at opposite ends of the spectrum in any discussion, whether it was about child rearing, politics, the state of the world in general, or which was better in an automobile...foreign or domestic. No matter the subject, we always ended up laughing when it was over.
I'm currently in Victoria so can not attend the memorial service on Saturday, but find some comfort in knowing my old friend Chuck, and his family will be foremost in my thoughts.

So very sorry to learn of Chuck's sudden death. He was a great fellow to work with at the old barracks in Edmonton and sad that I didn't have a more recent visit.

Charles Townsend Cripps - "Chuck" - "A man for all seasons" who made his mark in so many varied aspects of his life - from his home in Ipswich, to Canada, his distinguished career with the RCMP both in the north and Alberta, as a leader in the international Scouting movement, in his church, in music circles, a major player in putting Fort Edmonton on the map, as a business man and more recently as a contributor on the Antiques Road Show - Chuck had a sparkling personality that made everyone feel so very good. He had a ton of friends and we will miss his cheery presence. The world is a better place because Chuck Cripps passed our way. Our condolences go out to Dodi and all the family. Thank you for sharing Chuck with us. We will always treasure those special times together.
