Charles Villamaino 1916 - 2011 EAST LONGMEADOW - Charles "Charlie" Villamaino, 95, of East Longmea-dow, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 16th 2011. Born on April 22, 1916 in Longmeadow, MA, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Annunziata (Albano) Villamaino. Charlie served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant during WWII. Charlie worked as a Route Salesman for Bond Bread Co. and Interstate Uniform, retiring in 1978 at the age of 62. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Springfield and was a member of both the Elks Lodge #61 and the Italian American Club. Throughout his life he was an avid golfer, achieving two holes in one and shooting his age on occasion. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Rose (DiSanti) Villamaino; his beautiful daughter, "Joni"; three sisters, Carmella Albano and Annie and Delia Chelli; three brothers, Matteo, Antonio and Enrico Villamaino and by his daughter-in-law, Linda (Sacco) Villamaino. He is survived by his two sons, John L. Villamaino and his wife Donna of Wilbraham and Charles P. Villamaino and his wife Joann of East Longmeadow; a granddaughter, Nicole Stratton and her husband David of Agawam; his grandson, Joseph Villamaino and his wife Angie of Westfield; two great-granddaughters, Danielle and Samantha Stratton; great-step granddaughter, Christina Hanke and by his sisters-in-law, Mary (Molinari) Villamaino and Mary (Polverari) Villamaino. The family extends a special thanks to the Care Group Associates for their care and compassion. Charlie was a gentle man and will truly be missed by many. Family and friends are invited to meet for Charlie's funeral ceremony on Monday November 21st starting at 7:45AM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 123 Williams St., Springfield. Burial will be held in St. Michael's Cemetery in Springfield. A Gathering will be held on Sunday evening from 4-8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlie's memory to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.

Chuckie, john, and Villamaino family my family and I send u our deepest condolences. I spent a lot of time with Charlie, he was an amazing and inspiring man. He made me see life in such a different way, and I will never forget him and both you Chuckie, and joanne for making me feel like part of the family..also john thank you. My prayers to all wish I could be there at this time, I will miss him very much.
