AGE: 83 • Toms River

Charles R. Watson, 83, of Toms River, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. Charlie was born and raised in Uniontown, Pa. He worked for the JC Penney Company for 40 years, retiring in 1988. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star for many years and was a Masonic Past Grand Officer. He was a member of the Pinelands Reformed Church in Toms River.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Mable of 62 years; sons, Jeff (Linda) of Texas, Chuck (Christina) of Pennsylvania, Gregg (Carolyn) of Wisconsin, Brad (Wendy) of New Jersey, and Pam (Larry) King of New Jersey; sister, Marjorie; 13 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 infant daughters, 1 grandchild, and one son, William.

There will be a memorial service for family and friends at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 at Pinelands Reformed Church, Route 37, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

My Grandpa Charlie will be greatly missed. I will cherish the memories gained through visits with him and all of the annual Watson family reunions.
