Cheri was my cousin (I was named after her father) and I just found this entry on the internet. I surmised something was amiss when I didn't receive a birthday card from her, as I did every year. My wife and I are very saddened to hear of her passing. Would be glad to hear from Erich or other family members. I can be reached at [email protected]

My Name is Iris Serrano-Emmenegger
I was living with Chery from January until June 1985. I was a student of the collage of englisch language in S.D. It was a very Special time, I spent with her at coronade av.
As almost every year,I wanted to call Chery on her birthday last sunday, but the number was out of Service. I thougt, that it was strange. So I googled her Name just this afternoon and found this page!
I'm sooo said to read about her death..
She was my american Mom! We had such a great and wonderful time together. I was so lucky to have the Chanche to live with her and Erich. She took us everywhere to see all the attractiones around S.D. and L.A. We even spent one week on Hawaii together. We talked a lot und we had sooo much fun!!!
In the following years, I visited her several times! She even came with Erich to visit me and my Family in Switzerland. After I got married and became 3 children, I wasn't able to travel so far. But after miore than 25 years, I came back to S.D.and visited her with the whole Family in 2010! That was a great joy to see her again after all this years. She wasn't doing very well, but I really didn't believe, that I won't see her again.
I have so many wonderful memories and I'm so thankful, that I got to know her.
She belived in God and trusted in his way, so do I. I m sure, that I will see her again in heaven.
I would really appreciate, if sombody could send me the address of Erich Hoffman. I would like to write or call him someday.
Cheri was talking about Nebraska a lot and I met her parents several times.
Thank you for creating this page.It gives me a opportunity to write this down.
With very much love

We will miss you dearly Aunt Cheri. Tessa always enjoyed sending you letters and pictures of our children. Tessa, Dean, Adyson and I cherished every card we got on holidays and birthdays, and we were blessed to have you in our lives until you couldn't maintain contact. Through all the storms over the years you were always the voice of reason and compassion when we needed it the most, and many times the only one. With all our faith and love we trust you have filled the slot that God has reserved for you in Heaven, and now the angels have a true cosmic companion for all eternity.
