CHRIS PUHLMAN Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 11 to Feb. 12, 2012.
PUHLMAN
CHRIS A.
Suddenly on Thursday, February 9, 2012, of Robinson Twp., age 59. Life partner of David A. Slinchak; father of Caitlin (Matthew) Warren, Daniel, Jeremy (Kristen), and the late Nathan Puhlman; grandfather of Noah, Max, Addyson, and Tenley; brother of Suzanne Giger, Marcia (Jack) Petkovich, Robert (Linda), and Michael Puhlman; also Sandra Lubick (mother of Caitlin, Daniel, and Jeremy) and Adam Slinchak (son of David A. Slinchak). Chris was a third generation businessman and native of the Robinson Township area. Chris will be remembered as the owner of Chris Puhlman Flowers and Gifts in areas west of the city (now owned and operated by Karen Farrell). He also operated Parkway West Floral Warehouse, as well as a The Corner Table Restaurant on Campbell's Run Road. He touched many lives with his work ethic and floral creations -- proms, weddings, funerals, christenings, anniversaries, graduations... the stuff life is made of. He was involved with the Coraopolis Kiwanis, and a contributor to many charity auctions, fund-raising events, and organizations. In addition, Chris was a proud U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran. Chris had a passion for skiing, travel, and trying to make the impossible possible. He will be painfully missed by his partner, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. We remember a life cut tragically short, and he would have been so upset that his accident held up traffic for so long. We love you and always will. Friends received Saturday 6-8 and Sunday 1-3 and 6-8 at the JOSEPH M. SOMMA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5405 Steubenville Pike, Moon Run, Robinson Twp., where a Funeral Service will be on Monday at noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of his son, Nathan to the March of Dimes March for Babies, 5168 Campbell's Run Road, Suite 100, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.

Though I know many people by name, drink and story through working at Starbucks, Chris and Dave have always been favorites. The joy of planning another vacation, the sadness at hearing of my Dad's terminal illness, and above all, the humble, sweet, profound love evinced between the two, leave me truly at a loss during this difficult time. My prayers and hugs are with you.

Chris,
I miss you so much and the pain of losing you is so great that the only thing sustaining
me right now is my endless
love for you. I see the sorrow
in your family and friends mourning your
death and I wish I could wash away their grief. We planned a life that seemed to go on forever. How naive of us. To think that fate would never interrupt. I am thanking
everyone in your behalf for all
they are doing to keep your
memory alive. I am humbled.
And you certainly should be
amazed at the outpouring of
love and recognition of the
Great man that I know you are
and will love forever. I pray for this emptiness to be filled with strength to go on.

Dan, Jeremy & Caitlin,

I was shocked to have read of your father's passing in the news. I have fond memories of how kind he was to me whenever I would come over to hang out with you guys when we were kids. He always had a smile on his face. Even after I grew up he still remembered me any time I stopped in to buy flowers. My wife loved the roses I would always buy from him. He will be missed.

My deepest sympathies to the Puhlman family. I remember Chris as being fun and always thoughtful. He made many of my floral arrangements with extra care. When I was ill, he sent me the only flowering Swedish Ivy I had ever seen and I have yet to find another. It was special; just like Chris. He will be sadly missed by all whose hearts he's touched. The Puhlman family is in my prayers for strength and peace throughout this difficult time. God Bless.
