Christine McClellan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 31 to Apr. 1, 2004.

McCLELLAN, Christine
(Mancina)
A one-of-a-kind wife, mother and friend left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on March 3, 2004 after a 3 year struggle with breast cancer. Her sparkling spirit and good cheer never left her and made our life with her a treasured place in time. Born in Oakland, CA on August 11, 1950 and moved to Sacramento with her family in 1953, Christine graduated from Sacramento High in 1967. She loved the Beach Boys, Jimi Hendrix, horseback riding and having good times with her friends. After attending UC Riverside for 2 years, she joined the Shiloh Ministry and met her future husband, Samuel McClellan. After marriage, she and Sam continued in the Ministry and, thorough the years, lived in many of the western states before returning to live in Rancho Cordova in 1983. They were married for 33 years. Chrissy returned to college and received a BS in Accounting from CSUS in 1988 and later her CPA certification. She worked as an auditor for Coopers and Lybrand and as Controller for ACHD and Manpower Services in Sacramento. In 2003 she raised over $5000 for the Susan Koman Breast Cancer Foundation, the 2nd highest individual fundraiser in the Race for the Cure. Chris was so much fun to be with: an outgoing, comical and loving person. In addition to Sam, she leaves behind her three children: Christan Chittenden (Jared), Jody Malinosky (Justin) and R. Peter McClellan, P.E.; her sisters, Marianne and Robbie Mancina; her brother, Dr. Richard Mancina and dozens of heartbroken friends, acquaintances and a void which will never be filled. We miss her greatly. Preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Peter Mancina. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 2, at St. John Vianney Church, 10497 Coloma Rd., Rancho Cordova. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation to: Sutter VNA & Hospice, 2801 L St., Sacramento, 95816 in memory of Christine McClellan.

I wish I had met Chris sooner. She was a wonderful friend and inspiration in her Christianity, her positive outlook on life and joy of living, and in business. I will always cherish the sheer joy of living she shared with us at Manpower especially on the occassion of her 50th birthday.

Who was that woman in the boas and dark glasses?

Marc and I had so many good times with Chris over the years - attending CSUS together and later when I worked with her on a number of engagements at C&L. She was such a funny person and very dedicated to her family. She loved to live life to the fullest. I was always impressed by her will to succeed and will be missed so much! Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

I will never forget Chris' spirit and spunk! She was a rare woman and a truly beloved friend to so many of us. I will personally miss her terribly. I pledge to run in memory of Chris at this year's Race for the Cure. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family.
