Christopher John Banks, 38, of DeLand, Florida, passed away on April 8, 2024, in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania. He was born on September 30, 1985, in DeLand, Florida.

Christopher was a kind person who loved God, people, and animals. He had a special place in his heart for the elderly and was known for his caring nature. Christopher dedicated his career to helping animals through his work at West Volusia Humane Society, Halifax Humane Society, Journeys End Animal Rescue, and as a caregiver.

He attended McInnis Primary School, Taylor Middle/High School, and Daytona State College for higher education. Christopher had many good friends at Deleon Springs Methodist church and was a member of City Sanctuary.

In his free time, Christopher enjoyed being around animals, listening to music, reading, and watching movies. He touched the lives of many with his warm personality and generous spirit.

Christopher is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Banks, and daughter, Alanna Banks, both of DeLand, Florida, as well as his Aunt Kathy Cornman, Uncle Robert Farek, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Banks, and Uncle John Farek.

A memorial service will be held on May 11, 2024, at 11 am at City Sanctuary, 401 E Taylor, DeLand, Florida, 32720. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the City Sanctuary Church.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Schuylkill Haven Funeral Home in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania.

Jackie, Alanna, and Becky, my sincere condolences on the passing of Chris. As you know, I knew Chris his entire life. We had fun times together when we visited either there in FL or when he visited us in Atlanta. May you find comfort knowing he is now at peace.
