CHRISTOPHER C. CARTWRIGHT  
Died on May 1, 2021, at age 52. His is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kara Kinney Cartwright, and their sons Kevin Kinney Cartwright and Keith Kinney Cartwright. He is also survived by his parents, Edward and Marie Cartwright and Linda and Bill Nacios, as well as his brother, Mark Priore. Chris was a career civil servant, having worked more than 30 years for the United States Department of Commerce, holding positions at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service, and finally at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), as Director of the NOAA Budget Office. Chris attended the Syracuse University Maxwell School for Public Citizenship and Public Affairs, both as an undergraduate (1990) and more recently as a member of the pilot cohort for Maxwell's online Executive Master of Public Administration degree (2019). At the 2020 convocation, Chris was selected to lead the recitation of the Athenian Oath:  We will ever strive for the ideals and sacred things of the city, both alone and with many. We will unceasingly seek to quicken the sense of public duty. We will revere and obey the city's laws.
