Christopher Faulkner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 30, 2025.
Christopher "Chris" David Faulkner, 61, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 28, 2025. Born on March 20, 1964, in Syracuse, New York, Chris brought warmth and light to every space he entered throughout his life.

Chris grew up in Camillus, New York, where he graduated from West Genesee High School. He went on to earn his degree from Clarkson University and graduated in 1986. His education laid the foundation for a life marked by dedication-not only to his work but also to his family and community.

Those who knew Chris will remember him for his infectious smile and remarkable ability to connect with anyone. Whether meeting someone for the first time or catching up with an old friend, Chris had a way of making people feel seen and heard. His presence was magnetic-he could light up any room simply by walking into it.

A dedicated athlete, Christopher found great passion in pushing the limits of physical achievement. He ran many marathons and competed in numerous triathlons throughout his life. Among his proudest accomplishments was completing the Lake Placid Ironman-an extraordinary feat that stands as a testament to his determination and strength.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Chris found one of his greatest joys in coaching. He started his coaching journey as an assistant coach for the Southeastern Seahawks Youth Hockey program and then went on to serve as the head coach of the Bacon Academy Girls Lacrosse team. His biggest coaching accomplishment was coaching them to their first ever ECC championship win in 2021. His leadership extended far beyond the field; he inspired confidence, teamwork, and resilience in every player he mentored.

Chris's commitment to service didn't stop at athletics. He devoted countless hours to working with America's VetDogs, training guide dogs for disabled veterans and first responders. Through this meaningful work, Chris successfully trained three dogs-two of whom now serve loving veterans and one who proudly works at the Pentagon. His efforts left a lasting impact on both human and canine lives alike.

Chris's love for his family was unwavering. He is survived by his beloved wife, Corinna Faulkner; his mother, Dori Faulkner; his son Tyler Faulkner and his wife Lorrana; his daughter Alexis Viola and her husband Jay; as well as his brothers Tim Faulkner and wife Melissa, Scott Faulkner and wife Cheryl, and Sean Faulkner and wife Kim, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Richard Faulkner.

Chris's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched-with kindness, laughter, mentorship, and compassion. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of generosity and connection in others.

My dear Son-In-Law Chris,

I could not have asked for a better Son-In-law.

Thank you for being a faithful husband to my daughter Corinna and a
dedicated father to my grandchildren Tyler and Alexis.

As you have always been such a classy person, you and I have never had a bad word or an ill feeling between us. Thank you for that.

Your very courageous battle with cancer is over and now your body is not feeling any pain so you can rest in peace. As you have always been such a good person, you are leaving all of us that have known you with nothing but precious memories of you to help us carry on.

Love,
Brian

Chris, Seeing as we share 2/3rds of our names together this is a note to you. In reading all the kind words from everyone it seems by example you have set the bar really high for the rest of us. WELL DONE!!!! You fought like hell against a lousy situation, but it seems this was not out of character. Rest well nephew knowing you are in the heats of so many who have had the fortune of you being in their lives.

We worked with Chris on a sidewalk project for several months. He was always very nice and gracious with his time, helping us understand the process he knew so well. I have worked with many engineers over the years, and Chris had a very nice way of solving complicated problems and helping get the job done. We were all shocked by the news of his passing. Chris made a difference in this world. We will miss him very much. - The Team at VN Engineers.
