Christopher Haliburton Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 5, 2011.
Christopher Nolan Haliburton, Sr. was born on February 10, 1970 in St. Louis, Missouri to Doris A. (Woods) King and Fred N. Haliburton. His stepfather, Henry King preceded him in death along with his grandparents, Malcolm and Ernestine Haliburton. He received his education in Hazelwood School District where he graduated from Hazelwood East High School in 1988. Chris went on to attended Tennessee State University where he later met his wife Jene'e. Chris confessed his faith in Christ at an early age at Lamentation Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Floyd Patton. He was currently a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Ontario, California. As a young man growing up in the St. Louis area Chris found his love for sports, which continued to be one of his passions throughout his life. He was a prominent member of the NYA Sports community, participating in football and baseball. As a member of the Hazelwood East football team, Chris was a fast, quick defensive back. Anyone who ever spoke to Chris for less than 5 minutes found out that he was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Cowboys!! Chris and his brother Kevin were devoted participants in both fantasy football and basketball, conversing daily to make sure that one didn't have the upper hand on the other. Seventeen years ago, Chris and Jene'e left St. Louis and moved to California where he promptly established himself as positive member of the community. He spent the last 13 years working in the Real Estate Industry in Southern California while pursuing his acting career. Chris was blessed with the talent of being able to make people laugh, to bring out the levity and joy in others, a gift that always brought pleasure and gaiety…. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild in Hollywood, California and went on to star in several commercials and TV shows with the most popular being Auto Zone 2008 and Super Bowl Pepsi Max 2009. The absolute pride and joy of Chris' life was his four children. With Chris there was never a doubt about his love, devotion and dedication to them. Chris was involved in their educational, emotional, spiritual, physical and athletic well being on a daily basis. God dispatched His Angels to bring Chris home on September 5, 2011, to continue to be with him and rest in peace. He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife Jene'e Marie Haliburton; four children: Christian Marie, Chloe' Chenel, Candace Jene'e, and Christopher Jr.; a loving mother, Doris A. King; a loving father, Fred N. Haliburton; one grandmother, Luetissue Spencer of Whiteville, Tennessee; one brother, Kevin Haliburton (Julia) of Lawton, Oklahoma; one step-sister, Cassandra King of Los Angeles, CA; four aunts: Almatine Johnson, Betty Woods and Sandra Haliburton of St. Louis, Missouri, Adlena Malone of Maury City, Tennessee; five uncles: Harold Nance (Carolyn) of Maury City, Tennessee, Larry Ingram (Janet), Malcolm Haliburton of St. Louis, Missouri, Bill Woods (Shirley), Rickey Woods of Whiteville, Tennessee; Clarence Sain (Dorothy) of St Louis, Missouri and host of many other relatives and friends.
