Christy Hart Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 3 to May 9, 2023.
Christy Hart, an old soul hippie, passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2023, 8:42pm at the age of 68 with her daughters and friends by her side. She was born on August 20th, 1954, in Dayton, Ohio to her parents James and Irene Hart. Christy had a wild and adventurous spirit that took her to many different places throughout her life.

She grew up in the midst of the 60s counterculture movement and embraced the free spirit lifestyle with open arms. Christy loved music and attended many iconic concerts and shows. Christy lived a colorful and adventurous life, and her experiences shaped her into the person she became. She spent many years traveling and living in various places across the United States, including the Florida Keys, Lake Tahoe, and Las Vegas. Everywhere she went, Christy left a lasting impression on those she encountered, making friends everywhere she went. Christy never took anything for granted, and she lived each day as if it were her last... like she knew she wasn't going to be here forever. She was a unique free spirit who loved animals, music, and good company.

Above all else, Christy was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Maddie and Caroline....(and even some of the kids friends... Dana, Malia, Felicia, Lizzy, Alyssa, Emma). She raised them to be strong, independent women who were not afraid to pursue their dreams. Christy instilled in them a love of music and a deep appreciation for quality time.

Christy had a difficult health battle that was well managed, however it ultimately led to her passing from pneumonia in the hospital. She fought tirelessly, never giving up hope, and always maintaining her positive and spicy sense of humor.

Christy was predeceased by her Father, Mother, and her Lil Bro Tommy, but she is now reunited with them in eternal peace. She is survived by her daughters Madeleine Grove and Caroline Grove, her siblings David Hart and Lori Chaffin, and many other family members and friends who will miss her deeply.

Christy Hart will be remembered as a true original, a free spirit who lived life on her own terms. She lived a full and adventurous life, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, Christy aka Mamma Bear, Baby Mommy, Big Christy, Elmer, Christy Sue (Sorry Mommy haha!!).
