Clarence Barnes Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 10, 2015.
Clarence Barnes was born on September 3, 1938 in Covington GA to the late Robert Eugene Barnes and the late Mary Louise Toney.

At an early age, Clarence left the home of his parents in an effort to better his life. He was very young but he had big dreams and aspirations and a desire to explore. In 1965, Clarence became a Merchant Seaman supporting the United States Navy. He travelled all over the world working as a boiler operator serving on several naval ships throughout the duration of his tour of duty.

Clarence was a hard-working, intelligent man with an entrepreneurial spirit. He explored many different business ventures which made him a well-rounded, successful individual. From developing and distributing lotions, to being a highly sought after paralegal in Oceanside CA to running his own home furnishings online business in Temecula CA, Clarence definitely had an innate ability to turn an idea, a dream into a successful business.

On January 29, 1989, Clarence married the love of his life, Aurora Bartolome Barnes. They were married for 26 years and were the picture of marital bliss. Clarence truly loved Aurora whom he affectionately called "honey" and she truly loved him and took excellent care of him.

On July 8, 2015, Clarence entered into eternal rest leaving to forever cherish his memory his loving wife Aurora Barnes of the home, 4 sons and 4 daughters-in-law; Clarence Duane & Marlene Barnes and Eric & Monique Barnes all of Atlanta GA, Mark & Toni Bartolome of Oceanside CA, and Richard & Brenda Barnes of Lawrenceville GA, 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law Kimberly Denise & Andre Miller of Rocky Mt NC and Reanna Barnes of San Antonio TX, 3 brothers; Willie Smith (Karen), of Elizabeth City NC, Irwin Morris and Quentin Morris both of Cleveland OH, 9 sisters; Bonnie Edwards of Long Beach NY, Essie Desvignes (Phillip), Leitha Hankins (Carl), Ossie Gordon (Rodney) and Annette Brown all of Uniondale NY, Mytrice Allen (Lester) of Hempstead NY, Janie Ballard (Gathor) of Roosevelt NY, Redallion Morris of Cleveland OH and Sharon Morris of Miami FL, 17 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son; Darryl Eugene Barnes, 1 brother; Donnie Morris, and 1 sister; Mary Smalls.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to all of you for your kind words of compassion and encouragement and all you have done to assist and comfort us in our time of need.
