Langholz, Claudette J., 75, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2012. Memorial services 10:30 am, Saturday, January 28th, at First Evangelical Free Church. Claudette was born May 23, 1936, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. She was retired from USD 259 - Payne Elementary where she made many dear friends. After her retirement, she enjoyed subbing and meeting different school staffs and students. She was very active in Women's Ministries, both within her church and the community. She was a prayer warrior and had an effect on many lives. Claudette loved spending time and mentoring her grandchildren; Nick Amburgey (Karen Cook), Megan Amburgey-Raymundo (Abimael), Mallory Graddy-Ashworth (Kevin), Cole Graddy (fiancé - Lizzy Weber), Keelyn, Braden, and Brett Bonar, Brittney and Austin Berry, Graham and Noah Eidemiller, James Wilde (Randi – and great granddaughter – Ellie). The above is just a bare outline of her life. Among her many challenges, she became a widow at 34 and raised 4 young children until she met Richard Langholz and his 4 children. The two families were blended together on November 18, 1972. If 8 children were not enough to raise, they also had 13 foster children over a 2 year time period. Her home and heart was open to anyone in need. Her greatest joy was in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Claudette was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. James Martin Berry; parents, Curtis and Violet Darr; sister, Ruth and her brother-in-law, Glen Belknap; and granddaughter, Katie Marie Amburgey. She is survived by her husband, Rich Langholz; children, Richard Langholz, Jr. (Kim), Janice Eidemiller (Neal), Laura Amburgey (Jeff), Julie Prather (Jon), Alice Graddy (David), Bill Langholz (Bob Noll), Ward Berry (Cheryl), Sarah Bonar (Warren); 12 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. Claudette is also survived by her sister, Gloria Forney (Clyde), and brother Patrick Darr (Julie). She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

It seems like just yesterday that I saw her. She was at a school filling in for our secretary. It was wonderful to catch up with her. Dear Rich and Family, Rod and I first met you and Claudette in a Colossians 2:7 study in your home. We were engaged and became married during that 2 year study. Next year we'll celebrate 30 years. You and Claudette were instrumental in sharing the love of Christ with us. I was always amazed at what "real people" you and Claudette were during that study. You both shared your lives with us honestly and I appreciate that to this day. You taught us how to pray, memorize God's word, and have quiet times. Her smile in the picture you chose is exactly how I remember her. I'm sure Claudette is smiling as brightly in heaven today. WE miss you. Rod and Annette Niemeier Jamestown, ND

I first met Claudette thirteen and a half years ago when she and you, Rich, opened your home to my mother who was in the final stages of cancer. Since I live in Florida, our acquaintance lasted primarily through my mother's illness but the kindness that you both displayed has never been forgotten nor taken for granted. It only took a few moments with Claudette to realize what a special lady she was. My heart goes out to each of you as you face this loss. May you draw some comfort knowing that others are praying for you each day. With heartfelt sympathy, Diana McPheeters (sister of Barbara Riecker, daughter of Dorothy Agee)

Dear Boppa, thank you for loving Nanny. Were so thankful to have so many wonderful memories to look back on and cherish. Through the good times and bad all we have to do is sit back and think that we have the most amazing angel looking down upon and looking over us bettering our days as we keep going through them. When hard times strike we just got to think about all the amazing times we've had to help get us through. Nannys smile is like the warm rays of the sun, touching everyone of us and continuing to brightin our days. Just know your not alone, we are all here for you and love you so much! Keep your joyful smile on your face, it lights up the world!
