Cody Emiel Raben of Crawford passed away Aug. 13 at Chadron Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be August 18 at 10 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crawford with Pastor Greg Sonnenschein officiating. Burial will be at the Crawford Cemetery.

Cody was born on Feb. 2, 1973 in Newcastle, Wyo. to Emiel Andrew Raben and Laura Dee (Goode) Raben. As a young boy he spent happy days on his grandparents, Bud and Evelyn Raben's ranch in Sioux County. Cody graduated from Crawford High School where he played football and basketball.

He earned a degree in auto body repair from WyoTec in Laramie, Wyo.?Cody worked construction, landscaping, and in the energy fields of Wyoming. Landscaping was his favorite profession. In Sheridan, Wyo. he met and married Wendy Watson. To this union two children were born, Sadie Anne Watson and Levi Andrew Raben. Cody was a loving son and grandson but most of all a loving and devoted father. ?Survivors include: his parents Emiel and Vicki Raben of Crawford and Laura Goode of Newcastle, Wyo.; grandparents Evelyn Raben, and Harvey and Mimi Goode of Newcastle; uncle Brent (Sandie) Raben; aunt Brenda (Roger) Roberts; uncles Harvey (Fran) Goode of Newcastle, Matthew (Andrea) Goode of Tucson, Ariz., Greg (Dixie) Goode of Crescent City, Calif; aunt Wendy (John) Rindler of Laramie, Wyo.; great-aunts Thelma Henry of Rushville, Eveline Norman of Crawford, Gene Ellen Frantz of Lovington, Ill, Melissa Ward of Newcastle; great-uncle Casey Ward of Portland, Ore.; Grannie Rose; step-sister Mandy (Jason) Stubbs; step-nephew Jake Stubbs.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clarence "Bud" Raben and aunt April Goode.?A memorial has been established for the American Kidney Foundation. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
