To the Kirkland Family,
I've been lucky to know Levi, and I've cherished the kindness, hospitality, and generosity you have all given me throughout the years. I very often look back at the times you all visited Levi in LA with joy, whether it was Thanksgiving in the house on Santa Monica Beach, when Levi and I brought you all to Roscoes for the first time, or for Levi's UCLA graduation party. As many have written here, I'll always remember Cole as a bubbly, silly brother who loved his family and the time he spent with all of you. I am filled with grief, and understand that grief is the unexpressed love we have for Cole that keeps him forever in our memory. You are not only in my thoughts, but I am also here for anything any of you need at a moment's notice.

Dear Roselyn, Levi, Alana, Levi III and Family,
It is with deep love, care and concern that the St. Louis Chapter of the Morehouse College Alumni Association extends our collective, and heart-felt, condolences and empathy to each of you during this incomprehensibly challenging time of mourning the loss of Cole Everett Kirkland.
The St. Louis Morehouse College Alumni join with the over 20,000 Morehouse College Alumni worldwide in supporting you and in celebrating the all too brief life of our dear Brother, and fellow Morehouse Man, Cole Everett Kirkland. Someone has stated that the passing of a Morehouse Man is always significant since the world loses such an incredible source of talent and potential. In alignment with that sentiment, we pause, today, as a show of respect for the life and the legacy of Cole. Though Cole has left us far too soon, he has already accomplished great things, including his graduation from Morehouse College. Cole has already had immense impact, as demonstrated by the outpouring of love and sympathy you have received from so many sources. And, Cole has already touched many lives, as evidenced by the numbers of us who are journeying with you through this valley of sadness and mourning.
The St. Louis Chapter of the Morehouse College Alumni Association grieves for you and with you. We, too, will miss Cole and wonder what might have been. We will be praying for your strength to face each day going forward, for your ability to find joy in the memories even amidst your tears, and to maintain a faith that will sustain you. Let us know how we can support you during your journey today and in the days ahead.
On behalf of the St. Louis Chapter of the Morehouse College Alumni Association

To my friend Alana, Drs. Kirkland and Kirkland, Trey, and family:
I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your brother, son, friend, cousin, and light--Cole Kirkland. I've become friends and sisters with Alana through LEAD Atlanta, and one of the first things that we bonded over was how much we loved being big sisters and our love for our younger siblings. I loved hearing about the amazing childhood that your parents helped to create, the way Cole impacted so many with his light, and the closeness of the Kirkland siblings.
Alana's love for Cole always warmed my heart, and there are no words to express how you must feel at this time. I, and your LEAD family, will continue to hold you and your family in prayer. Please know that you have lifelong supporters in us, and we want to honor Cole's legacy.
