Collette Dodd Obituary

DODD, Collette Fuller

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Friend

Passed from this life on April 18, 2011. She was born 71 years ago in Atlanta, Georgia to Joseph Duke Fuller and Ethel Claudine Carter on March 22, 1940. Collette raised her two daughters in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Kimberly Dodd, her husband John Sarchio, and their children Jenna Fuller Sarchio and Tucker Dodd Sarchio, now reside in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Jenny Dodd Heinrich, her husband Tas Heinrich, and their children Georgia Collette Hamer, Emily Carolyn Heinrich and Brent Heinrich make their home in the San Francisco Bay area. She is also survived by her sister, Deborah Marie Fuller of Rome, Georgia.

In middle life, Collette moved to Spokane, Washington to be close to her west coast family, and developed many close and loving relationships. She returned to Florida to share her life with her east coast family and friends. Collette was at home on both coasts, near the people and the natural world she loved. Her accepting presence, her gentle spirit and creative force will continue to bless all who knew and loved her. A celebration of Collette's life will be held at a later date in Spokane. Donations in memory of Collette can be made to the City of Spokane Parks Foundation, care of the City Parks Department, 5th Floor City Hall, 808 West Spokane Falls Blvd., Spokane, WA 99201. Donations will be used to fund and improve recreation facilities in the Peaceful Valley River Park, a place where Collette enjoyed the beauty of nature and the music of the river.

Kimberly and Jenny; your mother was so special to many who knew her as a child and also as a young lady in High School. Am so sorry though, to hear of your loss at this time. I too will miss her.

As a high school student with Colette, I remember her well at that time. She was vivacious and extremely popular, and all the boys claimed to be in love with her. I share my own sadness and my deepest sympathy with all who loved her.

Kimberly and Jenny. I'm so sorry about your loss. Your mother was my dear friend in our grammar school and high school years. We enjoyed cheerleading together, as well as many other activities. I'm thankful for the memories of this precious lady.

Kimberly and Jenny. Your mom was loved by all and will be so missed. She was a "true" southern lady.
