CONINCK De Obituary
August 4, 1982 - August 10, 2012
The passing of Haldan de Coninck Smith, of D'Arcy, Sask,, occurred on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the age of 30 years. Haldan is survived by his parents, Richard de Coninck Smith and Nancy Mann; his siblings, Sari (Mark) Cloutier and children, Ridge, Blake and Trey; Michael (Chantelle) and their daughter, Kiersten; and Lee de Coninck Smith; grandmothers, Eleanor de Coninck Smith and Marj Mann; special friend, Kim Sanders; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, John de Coninck Smith and Edmund "Ted" Mann.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 4:00 P.M. at the Fiske Hall, Fiske, Sask. Friends are welcome to attend. Please come casual.
Memorial donations may be made to: The Kidney Foundation or The Alzheimers Association.
Arrangements are in care of the Outlook Funeral Chapel 867-8255.

My thoughts are with all of Haldan's family through this hard time. I had the privelage of knowing Haldan for many years. I met him when I moved to D'Arcy to live with my aunt and uncle. He was so much fun to be around. I am so sorry for your loss.

We have lost a piece of us that we can never get back; and as hard as that has been on our family, there have been so many people that have made it so much easier. We want to thank all of the people that came with or sent over food, pop, water and paper products! The Stutts and Wades for the campers. Kim & Kelly Hawken and Danielle Helgason for the hall help and slideshow. Grant McIntyre for the sound system. The thousands of hugs, texts, cards, flowers, calls and Facebook messages sending your condolences. The speeches and stories shared were just amazing; thank you for having the courage to get up on stage! We appreciate all of the donations made to the Kidney Foundation and the Alzheimer's Society. Thanks to The Fiske ladies for organizing and preparing the hall and flowers. Thank you to Kindersley Packers, Hidden Valley Farms Catering and the Fiske Hotel for the meal that you provided; it was just awesome! Thank you to The Caves for the use of your shop to build the most beautiful barn wood urn imaginable. Thank you to the Helgasons for taking care of two very precious horses until we can get them to their new home in Ponteix. We wanted the day to be a special reflection of Haldan and it was absolutely perfect; Thank you to the 450 who travelled from near and far to attend. We are going to miss our brother, uncle, son, grandson and friend for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much for reaching out to us with all of your love and support.

My condolences to the deConnick Smith families. I taught Haldan in Rosetown. He was one of the students that I remember because he always held a special place in my heart. Mrs. Hannay and I even visited him at his home one summer. He was a great guy and I feel sorry to hear of his passing.
