Corey Goode

Psalm 23:1-3 (KJV) states,  "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.   He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.  He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake."


Mr. Corey Theismann Goode, 41, of 1621 Westbrook Road, Hopewell, VA, suddenly departed this life on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Johnston Willis Medical Center, Chesterfield, VA.

Corey was born August 10, 1977 to the late Chester L. Goode, Sr. and Faye Brown in Chesterfield, VA.  He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Willie C. and Rosa B. Goode and Preston and Alice M. Foster; uncles, Charles Thomas, Willie Coleman, and Charles Goode; and aunts, Delores G. Wright and Florine Pencile.

Corey went to school in the Petersburg and Virginia Beach Public School System. He was a very loving father and stayed close to his family.  Corey was a quiet man with a kind heart.  He was often referred to as the “peacemaker” because he had the voice of reason and looked at the world with an open mind.  Corey was also a jokester and loved to make others smile if not laugh.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted mother, Faye Brown and her husband, Herbert of Hopewell VA; stepfather, Adolph Hayes of Dinwiddie VA; son, Khetari Sims of Elizabeth City, NC; girlfriend, Tawana Logan of Chester, VA; siblings, Chester Lamont Goode, Shawn Goode, Sakinah Goode, Dionne Jordan (Wendell), Nychelle Harris of Hopewell, VA, De’Ana Hayes of Chesterfield, VA, and Jesenia Hayes of McKinney, VA; nephews, Dontevious Traylor, Jamari Tucker, Tristian Smith, Marquez Tucker, Shawn Goode, Jr.; nieces, T'Aisa Jordan, Neveah Goode and Janiya Jordan; grandfather, William J. Coleman of Chesterfield, VA; uncles, Amos Thomas and Darryl Thomas both of Hopewell, VA, Gary and Kerry Foster both of Pennsylvania, Major C. Goode (Sharon) of Petersburg, VA, Nathaniel Pencile, Charles Coleman (Ellen) and Larry Coleman all of Chesterfield, VA; aunts, Sherrie Foster and Tammy Fisher both of Hopewell, VA, Sherry Foster of Pennsylvania, Terry Hill (Dennis) of Louisiana, Ellen Kleiber (Neil), Sarah G.A. Hardy (Roman) and Shauna G. Walker both of Petersburg Virginia, Delilah Taylor (Stanley) and Vickie Wyche all of Chesterfield, VA; cousins, Tommy Wright, Jr., Harry Duvall, D’Wanna Goode, De’Angela Anthony, Devonn Anthony, Ashli Goode, Kelli Wyche, Deva Goode, Antoine Crew, Andrea Crew, Ebony Conner, Lasha Conner, Darryl Harris, Corey Wells, Deandra Harris, Lenore Battle, Justin Fisher, Jenay Fisher, Keyona Motley and Asharma Rives; god-parents, Laura and Cecil Evans of Petersburg, VA; devoted friend/family cousin, Tyrone Williams, Chris Harrison and Wendy Monteiro; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to name.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 29, 2018 in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, Elder Dominic R. Holloway Sr., Liberation Church International, eulogist and the Rev. Dr. Earl R. Thompson, Pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Chesterfield VA. Interment to follow at the Lewis Family Cemetery.

The family will assemble 12:00 Noon the day of the service and will receive friends at 1621 Westbrook Road, Hopewell, VA.
