Corey and I met while starting our hikes up Gothic basin at the same time. We decided to go up together, and alas, many mountain adventures ensued! Basically every group we passed on a trail, Corey would greet by saying "Hello party people". He's the only person I ever heard say that. What a guy.
Our last hike together was up Three Fingers. I recall Corey enthusiastically helping some hikers with their unfiltered water by leading the charge an unexpectedly complicated water bottle transfer & filtering production. He also intentionally talked me up in the presence of a cute lady on the summit so I could leave with a number. Again, what a guy.
Corey was the first friend I made after moving to Washington. The places we visited have a new meaning now. I'm sad for losing Corey, but I'm grateful to have had him as a friend.
You rock Corey!

I was lucky enough to have known Corey since Kindergarten. Many fun times together over the years. Just a down to earth, truly good person. Corey, I´m so sorry. You and those who love you don´t deserve your absence from this world. Sending a big hug to anyone reading this.

Hey Buddy,
Thinking of you and Lauren brought back cherished memories of our backpacking adventure at Shi-Shi Beach for my birthday, just a year ago. I wish you were here to witness Anne and me exchanging our vows on our special day.
The photo of our first hike up Granite will forever hold a place in my heart, as will the memories of summiting Adams together. Your adventurous spirit and friendship enriched my life in the short time I got to know you.
Rest peacefully, my brother. Your absence is deeply felt, and you will always be missed.

Went on a hike on the mountain loop highway and couldn´t stop thinking about Corey. Wanted to compare steps and maybe finally get to brag a little. He was always fun to talk to and so passionate about things. Going to miss you bud. Peace be with you

I am so sad to here that Corey passed away. Corey was a great friend to my son Austin. I will not forget the times I back Austin's drums in my camery and brought him and the drums to Corey's house to have a jam session. God bless you John and Nancy.
