CORNELIUS REID Obituary

REID--Cornelius Joseph Jr., of Mill Neck, NY died on November 9, 2017. Born on March 25, 1924, the oldest son of Cornelius J. and Muriel J. Reid. Graduate of Kent School '42 and Cornell University '49. Proud WWII Army Veteran served 228th artillery battalion, XIX Corps from Normandy to the Elbe River, Germany. Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in 1948. He had a long and successful career, starting out in the family insurance brokerage firm, CJ Reid & Co. He was Vice Chairman of AON insurance services until his death, and was a member of Lloyds of London. Served as trustee and zoning board chair of the Village of Mill Neck. He is survived by his wife Edwina O'Shea for 42 years and previously married to the late Frances Hardin for 24 years. Father of Randy (the late Judy), David (Maggie), Lisa and Andrew (Jessie); Andrew Quigley (Sarah) and David Quigley (Christina). Brother of Cordy and Pammy. Grandfather of 13, he loved each of them dearly. Service at St. John's of Lattingtown November 21, 2017 11am.
