Craig Stevenson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 14, 2025.
Craig Lyon Stevenson, 71, passed away on May 8, 2025, in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. Born on February 5, 1954, Craig was known for his vibrant sense of humor, sensitivity, and intelligence. He was a dedicated professional, having contributed significantly to the field of healthcare technology.

Craig's career was marked by his leadership roles in several prominent companies. He began his tenure at Philips Healthcare in 2010 as a Cardiovascular Informatics Sales Consultant. He cared deeply about his customers and also enjoyed mentoring colleagues who were new to the healthcare technology field.

Prior to working at Philips, Craig served as Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Direct Medical Systems in Pleasanton, California, and was Senior Vice President and General Manager at Fischer Imaging. His professional dedication was evident in his relentless work ethic and innovative approach.

A graduate of the University of California-Irvine, Craig earned his Bachelor's degree in 1976, which laid the groundwork for his successful career. His academic and professional achievements were a source of pride and inspiration to those around him.

Beyond his career, Craig had a profound love for the ocean, a passion that was ignited during his upbringing in Southern California. He was an avid sailor and scuba diver, often recounting his adventures across the Pacific and exploring underwater worlds. His stories of crewing a Transpacific sailing boat from California to Hawaii were among his favorites to share. In recent years, Craig was very excited to rediscover his love for scuba diving by earning his advanced open water certification. He then embarked on dive trips to Mexico, Roatan, the Bahamas, and the Caymans, where he delighted in the wonders of sea life, coral reefs, as well as exploring various underwater wreck dive sites.

Craig leaves behind his beloved wife, Beverly Herring, and daughters, Hayley Eyre and Hannah Stevenson-Brown, along with sons-in-law, Brandon Eyre and Will Brown. He was a cherished grandfather to Lincoln, Lyra, London, Lettie, and Lochlan. He is also survived by his brothers, Neil McClement (Jackie) and Ian McClement (Robinmarie). Craig was preceded in death by his parents, William Lyon McClement and Muriel Joyce Craig McClement.

While no services are planned at this time, those wishing to honor Craig's memory can make contributions to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization he deeply admired. Craig's legacy of laughter, dedication, and adventure will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

While I only met Craig a few times, he was indeed a delight. Quick-witted, genuinely funny and an incredibly nice man. He and my friend Beverly made a wonderful couple, and I believe he introduced her to many happy experiences, some perhaps a bit outside her comfort zone. They were a wonderful couple, and I can't imagine the loss she feels. Sending love and prayers to his family and friends as they deal with this unexpected and untimely loss. Hold onto your precious memories -- he will live on in your hearts forever.

Our hearts are heavy for the loss of Craig & we extend our most sincere sympathies to you. Though our physical paths didn't cross often enough by any means, the familial closeness has always been there. Losing such an admired brother & sweet brother in law hurts badly. The memories we have will not be forgotten. We have proudly subscribed to Tunnels to Towers in Craig's name. God bless you!

Craig was a true gentleman, whose vibrant spirit and boundless passion touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. For over 15 years, I had the privilege of working alongside him in sales, where his professionalism and enthusiasm were unmatched. Craig approached life with the energy of a 25-year-old, defying his 70 something years with a zest that inspired all who knew him.

He was deeply devoted to his beloved wife, Beverly, and his daughters, Hannah and Hayley, whom he spoke of with immense pride and love.

Craig´s passions extended far beyond the office-he was an avid flyer, a daring diver, and an adventurer who lived each day as if it were his last. His stories of soaring through the skies and exploring the depths of the sea were captivating, but it was his eagerness to share his experiences and encourage others to chase their own adventures that left a lasting impression.

Some of my fondest memories of Craig are from our after-hours conversations, when the workday´s hustle gave way to heartfelt discussions about life. Over drinks or dinner, he´d recount his latest escapades with a twinkle in his eye, always ready to offer advice on how I could embark on my own journeys. Craig lived with an infectious urgency, as if there were no tomorrow, and his example taught me to embrace every moment with courage and curiosity.

Craig´s legacy is one of love, adventure, and an unwavering commitment to living life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to share in his remarkable journey.
