Craig Toffan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 23 to Jun. 27, 2009.
TOFFAN , Craig Robert April 22, 1962 - June 18, 2009 Craig passed away on Thursday due to complications with pancreatic cancer at the age of 47. He is survived by his partner Lyn (Turnbull), daughters Siena and Scarlet, mother Arleen Toffan, father John Toffan (Cheryl), brother Jay, sister Jill (Simon), and predeceased by his sister Sharon. Craig was born and raised in Calgary returning here in 1999 after spending about five years in Vancouver. It was back in Calgary that Craig found his way back into the heart of his childhood sweetheart and started a family. He was a very dedicated father and there was simply nothing more important to him than Lyn and his two little girls. As a conscientious and talented carpenter, building custom homes, his work took him from Calgary to Vancouver, Whistler, and Japan. His other true passion was for the outdoors where he had a natural gift for fishing. Craig was completely at peace on the river and it was special to watch him cast that little bit of magic. His strength of character defined his dignified approach towards his battle with cancer and is also reflected through the many lifelong friends he leaves behind. Craig has gone fishing one last time and he will be missed. A celebration for Craig, his family and friends will be held at Earl Grey Golf Club, Tuesday the 30th of June from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

To allthe Toffan family
Lyn (Turnball)
Siena and Scarlet
My heart is heavy with sadness, I just heard of Craig's passing. A wonderful person is gone now. But I will Never forget him...
I got to know Craig later in life (though I went to Elementary/Jr/Senior school with Sharon T, Jay too)
Lyn and Craig enrolled Siena at Mount Royal College Childcare where I work. Craig always had a smile on his face, and time for a chat in the office with me. Loved his fishing days..We shared some great laughs. Then Scarlet came along. He was so proud of his girls. So wonderful with his girls, he will be missed by everyone who knew him but especially "His girls" God speed!
My thoughts are with you at this time, hold tight to all the wonderful memories, they last a life time!
Take care, Love, Nancy Collins/Christophersen

I was saddened to hear of Craig's passing. Although it's been many years since I've seen Craig, I will always charish the great memories skiing with Craig at Sunshine and Lake Louise, during the late 70s and through the 80s.
My thoughts are with the family.

My deepest condolences to Lyn, the Toffan and Turnbull families. I remember the Toffans from Jennie Elliott and BP days and of course, the Turnbulls spent many a Christmas Eve at our house. I'm thinking of you all.
