Curtis ""Pete"" Boyd

HURST -- Curtis left behind this world and went home into the awaiting arms of his Savior, Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016. Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Mount Olivet. Curtis was born in Hammond, La. to William Boyd and Ollie Badon. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He married Mary Lou Null in 1955. He will be missed greatly, but we rejoice in knowing he is celebrating with loved ones who are waiting for him with open arms. Even though he has left this world, he will live on through our loving memories of this great man. Curtis was preceded in death by his sister, Vergie Davis; and his loving wife of 56 years. Those left to cherish and carry on in his memory are: Daughter, Ruby Ann Metcalf and husband, Gary; sons, David Boyd and wife, Rebecca, William Boyd, Johnny Boyd and wife, Dawn; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces.
