Mansfield resident Mrs Dorothy
Spedding (79), of Ravensdale
Road, was buried at the
town's cemetery in the grave of
her late husband, Derek, after
a service at St Peter's Church,
Mansfield, where her five sons
carried the casket into and out
of church.
Born at Whitwell, Worksop,
Mrs Spedding, who moved to
Ravensdale and lived locally
for 58 years, had worked for
25 years for Nottinghamshire
County Council as a cleaner until
her retirement.
She loved to knit and bake
and thoroughly enjoyed travel,
especially to Ireland and Madrid. Mrs Spedding also enjoyed
visiting friends, attending brewery trips with her late husband
and had especially loved her pets.
Mrs Spedding, who died at her home, leaves her five sons,
Malcolm,Robert, Derek, LeslieandMelvin, daughters-in-law
Barbara, Renatta, Angie and Julie, 27 grandchildren and 15
great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband,
Mr Derek Spedding in 2006 and her baby son in 1949.

Floral tributes were from the family and donations received
in lieu of flowers were for Cats Protection (Mansfield
Adoption Centre).
The service was conducted by the Rev J. Pulman, and arrangements
were by A. W. Lymn.
