Daniel Gamez

Daniel Gamez, born on June 22, 1961, in Hereford, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024, in West Jordan, Utah. He was 63 years old.

Daniel was the beloved son of Antulio Valdez Gamez and Oralia Paniagua-Guzman Gamez. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda F. Gamez; his son, Jeremy Gamez; and his stepdaughters Faylita, Katrina, Shamika, and Katonya. He also leaves behind his brothers Gabriel and Juan Gamez; his sisters Rosemary Carter and Oralia Gamez; and his cherished grandchildren Kylie, Sophia, Caleb, Xavier, Brenda, Alessandra, Isaiah, Daleysa, LaVae, Lyla, Levi, Jay, and Junior. Daniel's extended family included numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends across three states. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Isaac Gamez; and his beloved daughter Rita Gamez.

Daniel proudly served his country as an Electronic Warfare Systems Technician in the U.S. Navy. During his military career, he earned several honors for his service to the nation during critical times of need. These included the National Defense Service Medal and the Southwest Asia Service Medal with a Bronze Star. His dedication to excellence and commitment to duty were hallmarks of his time in uniform.

Following his honorable military service to the nation he loved so deeply, Daniel pursued higher education at Texas State Technical College and later at the University of Phoenix.
