DAVID R.
Age 73, a local business executive, on Monday, September 1, 2014. Mr. Andrews was a 1963 graduate from Thiel College. Last fall, he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree from Thiel College where he had a 40 year history of volunteer service. His dedication to his alma mater included membership on the Alumni Board, service as a past President of the College's Alumni Association and membership on Thiel's Board of Trustees. He served as the Board Treasurer and also was the Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee. He began his career as a Staff Accountant at Price Waterhouse. He went on to become Assistant Controller at Jones & Laughlin Steel, Vice President for Finance and then President and CEO at Mesta Machine Company. He joined Washington Tool and Machine Company, and held the position of President, CEO and CFO of Washington Tool since 1999. On August 15, 1965, he married his grade school sweetheart, Mary Jo Enlow, his wife of 49 years, who survives along with two children, Jennifer A. Foody of Wexford and Julie E. Andrews of Washington; a sister, Kathy (Jon) Stevens of Washington; and three loving grandchildren, Sarah, David and Megan Foody. Friends received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, in the HUMMELL AND JONES FUNERAL HOME, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington,. Thomas W. Hummell Supervisor, Douglas M. Jones Director, where Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014. The family is requesting that memorial contributions be sent to Thiel College, 75 College Ave., Greenville, PA 16125 (please designate contributions to the Dave Andrews Memorial Fund) or the Building Fund at First United Methodist Church, 29 North College St., Washington, PA 15301.
