Hamlin, David
66, of Wimberley, Texas, passed peacefully from earth to heaven on September 30, 2010 after a courageous four year battle with cancer. He was born on June 30, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and is preceded in death by his father, William E. Hamlin and his mother, Vivian Hughes Hamlin. David was a 1962 graduate of Tempe High School. While in college in Arizona, David
volunteered for the Army and served a year in Germany and a year in Viet Nam. After returning he received a BA from Northern Arizona University. David worked in sales and management in the restaurant supply business in California and Arizona before he and Arlene moved to the Texas Hill Country to build their retirement home. He retired from Mission Restaurant Supply March 2010. David is survived by Arlene Helberg Hamlin, his devoted wife of 20 years. Also his sons Neal Hamlin of San Diego, CA and Bryan Hamlin and wife Heidi of Phoenix, AZ., stepsons Cody Rhodes and wife Belinda of Abilene, TX., and Chris Rhodes of Austin, TX. David was also blessed with four grandchildren: Nathan and Natalie Hamlin, and Dylan and Delanie Rhodes. In addition David is survived by three brothers: Fred Hamlin of Las Vegas, NV. Eddie Hamlin and wife Sandy of Winterhaven, FL. and Steven Hamlin and wife Vicky of Chandler, AZ. A celebration of David's life will be held on October 23rd at 4 pm at The Cole Ranch, 20101 FM 2325, Wimberley, TX 78676. Dress casually and stay to watch the sun set over the hills that David loved so much. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Trinity Lutheran Church Youth Program Blanco, TX or the charity of your choice.
