Dear Sharon & Family,
We just heard on the weekend of Dave's passing. You may remember me, I was a co-worker and friend of Dave's when he worked for BC Tel up in Prince George, then here in Vancouver. We were in several curling bonspiel together. I was saddened to hear of his passing. Dave was such a good person and always a happy soul. He will be missed by many. Just know that we are thinking of you and your family.

Dear Sharon & Family,
Just today I heard of your Dave's passing, and was sad and shocked. You may remember I was a co-worker and friend of Dave's when he worked at BCTel/TELUS in Prince George. He was a ton of fun and so full of life. You and Dave made a great team for sure and have so much to be proud of. I enjoyed the pictures in the Guest Book, the two of you, the family, the friends and it made me feel good seeing how happy he was. Reading the entries confirmed that Dave never changed over the years and that he loved his life and the people in it and they loved him. You will miss him for sure, he was special. Stay strong and may family, friends, faith, memories and time help you heal.
Take care and know we are thinking of you.
In Care and Sympathy

Dave... He spent quite a bit of time in our shop, visiting. I will remember him for always being happy, always talking about family, for telling funny stories and always being there whenever we needed him - no matter what he was doing.
I miss him very much, and think of him often. May he have good weather, and cold beer, wherever his winding road takes him.
Hugs and of course, kisses Dave!
David as a child.

A Man And A Father
A man can make babies
A father raises his children
A man has the strength to fight
A father has the power to walk away
A man can hear what you have to say
A father will listen to what you're trying to tell him
A man will tell you what you did wrong
A father has the patience to let you learn from your mistakes
A man knows when he has done wrong
A father has the wisdom to try to do better
A man may have many friends
A father supports his family
A man can show you how to survive
A father can teach you how to live
A man can tell a joke
A father will make you laugh
A man will pretend to give a damn
A father truly cares
This I learned from my father, he was a good man.
Love your son,
Jonathan

Sharon:
May the many memories you shared with Dave, as painful as they are at this time, nurture you and give you strength as you face the future. May the bonds of family and friends help to sustain you. Although we don't talk that often, please know we are always just a phone call away. We remember the great times we had with you and Dave and we miss him.

My Darling David, it has been 5+ months since you left us...man I could use one of your hugs...you were always there for me...always...and I miss that so much...you, Sharon and I were 3 peas in a pod and we always had so much fun together...all the laughter and the tears...the "see ya"...you were the only man that I have ever been able to depend on...you brought so much happiness to everyone's life...all you wanted was to put smiles on their faces and you did...babies...you were the first to reach out to hold them...no matter who's baby it was...you were the best Santa Clause that Chako Mika Mall ever had!!!...you were the best biker any Harley ever had...you were the best of the best...and you are so missed...and so talked about...still...you will be a part of my life and my memories forever...I hope that you were there to welcome my Mom and my Dad to your new home when they recently passed away...I never got a chance to take my Mom for a ride on my bike...would you please get her on yours so she can experience what I did...thank you for the love and for the memories...
Sharon, Brent, Erin, Adrian, Jonathan, Leah, Roclyn, D'Shawn and Quiana...
My heart goes out to you all. Your loss has been a hard one to bare...at this time I am not sure that I can tell you "that time heals all wounds" because I am wounded too...I feel your pain...I do know though that as with my parents who would want me to go on with my life happily...David would want the same for you all...we all just have to hold onto the wonderful memories...the pictures and remember him...love you all so much...

As well as your love for your cherished family and spending time with friends, you loved to ride your Harley. Whether on your own or with me and friends, you put on many, many miles with a big grin on your face.
Now, whenever I hear the rumble of a Harley, it brings tears in my eyes and a smile on my face because I can hear you say, "I love having you with me." We went on many fun and crazy rides, especially when we made a wrong turn!
I know you are riding somewhere...until we meet again...I love you and I miss you so, so much. Bootsie

Dear Dave,
The chance to say my last good bye is one that makes my heart very heavy.
Thank you for being such a honest, true, caring and loving grandfather to my two children. It is a horrible thing that they will not have the chance to know the man but trust me they will forever know the legend. With my fond memories and the ones of all your loving family and friends your spirit will live on. D'Shawn asks of you often and your place in his heart is sealed. He finds happiness in the pictures of the two of you. I am also very thankful that on our last visit together you were able to meet Miss Quiana on her arrival to the family and those pictures also provide great comfort.
Dave thank you also for bringing into this world Jonathan. If not for that I would not have my two precious babes that I love more then anything. Thank you for being an ear and a voice of reason, thank you for your bad jokes, thank your for your good ones, thank you for generosity, thank you for your values, thank you for your love, Thank you for you.
When we hear a Harley it is our way of remembering you and hearing a hello. We love you and we miss you.
My heart goes out to all your family and friends, Sharon (Gigi), Brent, Erin, Adrian (Leah and Roclyn) and Jonathan

Dear David - Five months have now passed since we received the sudden news of your death - the words to write come no more easily today than last May. The reality of our Dear Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, and Friend - as we knew him, no longer present with us on this great Earth - is seeping into our very being. But, also an awareness of his "comforting soul", ever present, is here with us, and will be always. So, little Brother, give a big Hug to Mom and Dad (Grandma and Grandpa),now as our guardian Angels, - continue to send your smiles down our way - 'til we meet again - we'll try our best to "make you proud" Love, "big sister", Janet

"Sharon...sending much much love to you. We heard about loosing Dave, such terrible sad news. But my heart broke for you, we get left behind to continue questioning and suffering, he's off someplace, on the next stage of the journey, doing who know's what, and if he could, I know he'd whisper to you that everything is alright, to not worry about him, but to take good care of yourself..and that he has loved you dearly, and still does. Everything will be alright, mend your heart, slow and take time. Your life is a gift. If I ever get back to the Koots, I've got a sweet hug for you. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx dale."

I have a strong belief in God. I believe God as the Trinity. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I know you are now part of the Spirit. The Spirit is something that is real. It is within every living thing, it flows threw the Earth and is sometimes visisble. It is the electrical energy that is within all of us. How it works I do not know, but I'm sure you do.
I will miss you David, until we met again your loving brother

Dave... Your smile could warm the hearts of anyone. When you walked into a room it was a better place and you were instantly loved by everyone. I am sitting here with all my fire memorabilia around me reminding me who I am today, but the memory I can remember most right now is when Jill's house was burning down when I was 15 or so and I can remember you letting me wear your bunker gear so I could be one of the guys. I remember grabbing it out of the back of a car and throwing it on, and I was never so proud to be with you guys. Thank you for putting the smile on my face that day. I will always miss you.

David "Bart" The best 25 years of my life have been spent with the love of my life...nobody knew me or could put up with me the way you could...we could read each others thoughts...we used to always joke that we had to be married to each other because nobody else could have put up with us, I was honored to be your wife and will treasure all of our memories, good and bad because that is what brought us to where we are today...I Love you and I miss you.
